“Padma Crying” Artworks on display at Garden Gallery

A daylong art camp titled ‘Padma Crying’ organised by Gallery Cosmos was held recently on the banks of the River Padma in Manikganj. Sixteen most renowned Bangladeshi artists drew inspiration from the surroundings to depict the state the great river has fallen into as a result of the phenomenon of climate change and human activity over years. The post-graduate students of theatre department of Dhaka University staged Nobel Laureate English playwright Harold Pinter’s “The Homecoming” on Wednesday evening at Natmondol auditorium.
‘The Homecoming’ translated by Professor Abdus Salim and directed by Ziaul Haque Titas will be staged every evening at the venue till January 11.

35,000-year-old statue thought to be world’s first nude sculpture

A 35,000 year-old buxom statuette has been unveiled by scientists as the world’s earliest sculpture of the naked female form.
