Serbian Zoran Djordevic on Thursday was appointed as the interim coach of the Bangladesh national football team and the U-23 team by the Bangladesh Football Federation.
The 57-year-old coach, who visited Dhaka during the SAFF Championship in December, will take over the responsibility from this week. He will guide the U-23 team in the SA Games football starting on January 29 and will lead the national team in the AFC Challenge Cup final round in Colombo, which will kick off on February 16.
Zoran will be assisted by two Serbian trainers. Md Ponir has been retained as the goalkeeping coach while Hasanuzzaman Khan Bablu was made the manager of the SA Games squad.
Zoran Djordevic is the first successful foreign coach under whom the Churchill Brothers SC won the I-League in 2009. He was the head coach of Yemen national team in 2000 and Sudan in 2002.
In 2006 Djordevic was named as the head coach of the Pepsi Football Academy for the Middle East region. He coached more than 15 Middle East football clubs in his coaching career that started in 1980-81.
